How To Do A Quick and Easy Natural Makeup Look!
Step 1: Skin Prep
Skin prep is important because it’s what prepares your skin for a smooth and clean canvas to work with! Skin prep includes what you do before makeup, skincare, sunscreen, primer, etc. What I like to do is my skincare routine then I’ll spray rosewater on my skin. It’s what works best for me+it gives my skin a radiant glow. After spraying the rosewater I’ll let it sit on my skin for a minute then I’ll start with my makeup. I always advise having a hydrated base to work with when you do your makeup.
Step two: Coverage
We’re now getting started with the fun stuff, makeup! When it comes to natural makeup looks light coverage is the way to go. Something that doesn’t weigh down or feel heavy on your skin is just what you need. Recently I’ve gotten into skin tints, and it’s been amazing. They’re incredibly easy to apply, don’t wear off, and it feels like nothing is on my skin! I recommend using something light like BB cream, skin tint, tinted SPF.
Here’s how I apply skin tint for the perfect amount of light coverage:
- Apply four dots onto your skin and blend it out with a beauty blender. I’ve found that when it comes to skin tints and foundation I prefer beauty blenders, compared to makeup brushes it’s a lot easier in my opnion.
- Now we are going to move onto conealer!
The skin tint I purchased is the Bare Essentials Complexion Rescue SPF 30 Skin Tint, I love it! Here’s a review if you want to learn more.
Step three: Brightening Your Base
Concealer is a lifesaver, I swear! Since you are trying to achieve an effortless natural finish, I recommend only applying to areas you need. If you want to apply concealer on blemishes apply a small amount onto the area and slowly blend out with a small makeup brush.
Here’s how to apply the perfect amount of concealer:
- Apply the concealer under your eyes: I like to apply it like this:
2. Blend under your eyes with a small makeup brush. Pro tip: spray a small amount of rosewater from a distance onto your makeup brush to make the blending easier.
3. Blend the line up all the way with that small makeup brush!
4. Boom! You’re done with concealer!

Step Four: Giving Your Skin A Rejuvenated Flush Of Color!
Blush! If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you know how I love blush! Surprisingly I’ve been loving matte blush recently, in the shade red! I know that normally people use the shades pink and coral but red is such an underrated color and I need to give it the hype it deserves. The blush I use is the Elf Putty Blush, in shade Bali!
There are two ways you can apply the blush, along your cheekbones or the apples of your cheeks, here’s how to do both:
Along your Cheekbones
Apply the blush along your cheekbones, this will give you as lifted effect. Tip: if you’re having trouble finding a good angle to apply the blush along your cheekbones, angle your face so that the light is catching your cheekbones and apply.
Apples of your cheeks
Grab a bit of the blush onto your makeup brush and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks. Tip: Smile to make the apples of your cheeks show more, then you can apply the blush.
Step Five: Giving Your Eyes A POP!
Moving onto eyeshadow! The easiest thing you can do is grab your highlighter and apply a light amount onto your eyelids. What I like to do is just grab my Fenty highlighter in shade Hu$tla Baby and I’ll grab a fluffy brush and apply a bit to my eyelids. It’s the small touch I add to enhance my eyes. If you prefer something matte you can do this with bronzer.
Step Six: Brows
When it comes to natural makeup looks you can use clear brow gel or leave them as they are. If you are choosing to leave your brows alone you can grab a spoolie and comb them to give them a neater appearance, that’s what I do!
Step Seven: Getting That Glow
Highlighter is a necessity for a natural makeup look, but you are only going to use a little bit! For this look I recommend a gold highlighter but feel free to use what you prefer:
- Apply some on top of the blush
- Tip of your nose, and along the bridge of the nose
- Underneeth the brow bone
That’s all you need for this makeup look!
Step Eight: Mascara!
Mascara is what is going to tie this look all together! Here are the steps to getting mascara that will hold all day! A new mascara favorite for me has been the Essence Volume Lash Mascara.
- Grab your lash curler and hold down on your lashes for 5 seconds
- Release for two seconds
- Repeat for five more seconds (holding down the lash curler)
- Release
- Repeat for five more seconds! I know it’s a lot but this is how I get my lashes to stay all day
Now that you’ve got your lashes nice and curled immediately follow with mascara:
- Twirl the mascara wand up against your lashes opposed to a straight line. Your lashes will appear a lot longer with this hack
- Repeat x2 But really as many times as needed
- When you are done do touch ups! (this means looking around your eyelashes to see what needs to be fixed/added)
Step Nine: Lipgloss
The last step of this makeup look, lipgloss!! You can go for something that is clear, tinted, sparkly. Personally, I love NK Girl Lipgloss, the lipgloss is cheap and comes in a pack of 5. They last long and you only need a little bit!
Step 10: Locking everything in!
Now that you’ve completed your makeup this is the last step, and optional! If you use setting spray you can use that now, I love using rosewater as setting spray too, I highly recommend it!
