I am a big believer in self-care, personally, I need it to feel organized with my life. I get anxious easily so these are the things that like to do to keep myself calm. During Corona it can also be difficult to feel motivated, I have felt it and you might have too. I think that self-care is very important especially during these times, so let’s dive in!
1. Clean Up Your Living Space
The first thing you should do to have a clean and calm space because after all you probably have been spending a-lot of time there because of a corona, and even if this is after corona it’s important to have a clean and healthy home. Your home/room is your sanctuary and it’s important to feel good when you are in it. So start by making your bed and then clean your room and move around the house at your own pace. This is also a good time to go through any clutter and get rid of anything you don’t want. Make three piles, the keep, trash, and donate. I like to use the Marie Kondo way, hold it, does it make you feel attached and happy like you need it? Or does it feel like you can let go of this thing, from there decide if its going in the trash or donate pile.
2. Moving Around
Working out is a really great way to feel better about yourself. I have recently made my own routine on the things I would like to achieve. I have noticed ever since I have started working out I have been a lot more motivated and my mood has been better. I put “moving around” because it can be anything from taking a walk to doing a workout.
3. Take a Bath
Put on a hair mask, you can buy one or find one on youtube and do that so your hair can feel clean. (I will have the one I use linked below) While your hair mask is on put on a face mask and just relax for the time that you have remaining before you go in the shower. Look around your home and look at how clean it looks. When you get out of the shower brush your hair, and do your skin care routine.
4. Affirmations
I know that you may be thinking affirmations? Well I was actually shocked by what this would do for me and it may help you too! Affirmations are things that you tell yourself to make yourself feel empowered and it also helps with positive thinking. Okay so look in the mirror and tell yourself some of the following things:
- I am beautiful or handsome.
- Positive thinking creates positive things.
- I forgive myself for not being perfect because I know I’m human.
5. Make a Plan
Making a plan of your day can actually be very beneficial. It helps with setting your day to be on track and organized. I recommend downloading the app Microsoft To-Do, it’s free. I use this for my school, blog, and just my day-to-day life. The app is simple and easy to use, which is great. Or if you prefer using paper a planner is a great way to stay organized with the things that you need to do. Thats all I have for you today, I hope that these steps have helped you with feeling a little more organized.
