Hello, my beauty beginners hope you’re all doing well! Since back to school is right around the corner I thought I would share the makeup look you need for back to school! This is going to be a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this type of makeup look! It’s also a quick, natural look, that’s easy to do! Ok, let’s get into it!

This is what this makeup look looks like on me, down below is the guide!!
1. Skin Prep
The first step is going to be skincare! Always make sure to do your skincare routine before doing your makeup. I also find that my makeup looks a lot better if I do my skincare routine before makeup! After doing your skincare apply facial mist or primer.
Personally, I use facial mist, rosewater specifically, but it’s up to you based on your needs! Primer will fill the pores in your skin to give you an easier and smooth base to work with while facial mist hydrates and refreshes your skin. Rosewater specifically will give your skin a smooth, hydrated, and refreshed look, it also smells really good!! You should wait around five minutes after you have completed prepping your skin!
I use the Heritage Store Rosewater, this stuff is amazing I swear! It doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky either!
2. Concealer
Depending on what you’re comfortable with and what your school allows concealer would be next! If you don’t want to wear concealer skip this step and move onto step 3. When applying concealer make sure to use a smaller brush to get an even look! Before I would use a bigger brush to spread my concealer, it would look so uneven, so I wanted to add that!
I like to apply my concealer like this: (sorry if the photo is a bit blurry!)
(when I am spreading out my Concealer especially with the line part I brush up along the line and it gives me a lifted effect, it looks really good!!) Also, this is the only area where I apply Concealer so it looks really natural and it is also way quicker to do. Recently I’ve been using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, I’m shade 120. I love this concealer it’s amazing quality too given the price and it doesn’t wear down either as the day goes on!

3. Eyeshadow
The next step would be eyeshadow and since this is school I prefer to not use shimmers but it’s up to you and what you would like!! Normally, I like using a matte eyeshadow for school days, especially one that is close to my skin tone! I use the NYX Warm Neutrals Palette because the formula is so good and the eyeshadow stays all day! Another tip would be when applying eyeshadow pat the eyeshadow onto your lid you will get a more vibrant and even look.

4. Nose Contour
To be honest some days I am really good at nose contour and other days not so much, I want to add that it takes time to master nose contour. So if you are deciding to do nose contour on the first day of school for the first time I would recommend skipping this step because I don’t want you to mess up!
Here are the steps though if you want to try it out:
- Grab eyeshadow, one that is a tad bit darker and one that is lighter than your skintone. And a flat eyeshadow brush, it should look like this:
- Start off with mixing the lighter eyeshadow onto your brush then the darker rotate one more time but end on the darker eyeshadow!
- Hit your eyeshadow brush on your eyeshadow palette to get any excess eyeshadow off.
- Start at the top of your nose right where your eyebrows begins and drag the brush down, (make sure to not go around your nose stop at the tip of your nose!!)
- Repeat on the oppiste side of your nose.
- Draw a line right across the botton of your nose!
- BOOM! Your nose should be contoured now, it’s going to take some trial and error before you start to get the hang of it and learn how to work with your nose shape but that’s the basis of it!
5. Blush
Time for my favorite makeup product blush!! Blush can seriously pull a look together while making you look refreshed and natural. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you know how I love to apply my blush!
Here’s where to apply the blush!
- Along your cheekbone
- The tip of your nose
I love using the Benefit Galifornia Blush, the formula is amazing and it also stays all day!!

6. Highlighter
For highlighter, I like to use FENTY and the shade is Hu$tla Baby! I’ve been using this exact highlighter for 1 and a half years and have never looked back! I love FENTY, and this highlighter is amazing!!
Apply the highlighter:
Your cheekbone: This should be right above your blush!
On the nose: Apply it on the tip of your nose, and lightly on your actual nose!
- If you did the nose contour then apply the highlighter in the middle of the nose contour and tip your nose!
Inner Corners: Apply the highlighter on your inner corners, this also looks really good with the matte eyeshadow!
Brow bone: Lastly apply the highlighter under your brow bone! (but do this after you are done with brow makeup!)
7. Lashes
Recently I discovered the best way to curl my lashes, so now I’m going to share that with you!
- Hold your curler down for 3-4 seconds then release
- Repeat that 3-4 times
- Now it’s time to apply mascara! When you are applying mascara twist the mascara wand up against your lashes and do that until you like the way your lashes look, I would recommend 3 times!
- BOOM now your eyes look amazing!!
8. Brows
For brows, you can do whatever you like! Since I don’t have time most school mornings to sit down and do my brows I would recommend using some clear brow gel if you need a recommendation I’ve been loving the NYX Clear Brow Gel!

9. Lips
It’s now time for lips! I like to wear lipgloss, but you can do whatever you prefer. Recently I’ve been loving N.G. Girl Lipgloss, they last for a long time too! I also love this brand because all of the glosses smell amazing!! When I want a bit of shimmer I use the elf lipglosses. Elf lipglosses also stay for a long time!
10. Setting Spray
Last but not least setting spray! I also use the Heritage Store Rosewater as a setting spray, the link is in the first step! What I love about using rosewater is that it also doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight, or dry! I dislike that feeling so rosewater is the perfect thing to use.
