Hello beauty beginners, today I’m going to be going over how to take care of your nails! Around 7 months ago I wrote a blog post on the products you need to achieve long strong and healthy nails and since that blog post did well I decided to write a blog post with additional tips and tricks for getting healthy nails!

- Dont bite your nails: I know that this can be a struggle for some people so I would recommend getting nail polish that tastes bad so it prevents you from biting your nails! Not biting your nails is crucile because doing so will damage them.
- Don’t use your nails as tools: Using your nails as tools may be a convenient idea but again it will damage your nail! Some examples of this would be opening soda cans.
- File your nails: After cutting your nails make sure to file them so you can shape them evenly!
- Keeping nails clean and dry: If you keep your nails clean and try this will prevent bacteria from growing under your fingernails!
- Taking a break: Sometimes it’s a good idea to take a break from nail polish so you can let your nails breathe a bit!
- Protection: Nail strenghting creams are also a good idea if your nails need a boost! Nail strengthening creams can provide benefits such as strenghtening nails and growing nails quickly. I love Hard as Hoof, when I first started using it I saw results in a week! My nails were so weak and thin before too so I was shocked you can read my full review here.
- Cuticle Oil: Cuticle oil is another great idea for cuticle health, I love Cuccio Cuticle Oil! It smells like milk and honey while leaving my cuticles soft and moisturized! To use: apply 1-2 drops of oil onto your cuticles (a little goes a long way so make sure to use a little!) Make sure to take your time to massage the oil onto your cuticles. BOOM! You should now have moisturized cuticles, repeat daily for best results!
- Base coat: Wearing a base coat is a good idea to protect nail polish from staining your nails! So while you might think it’s a important idea to skip, it’s a good idea to always have a base coat during a mani! I like to use this Ellie Chase Base Coat it works really well while giving my nails a subtle pink tint!
- Gel and Acyrlic Nails: I know how nice it can be to have a new set of acrylics but they are damaging for your nails in the long run! When I got them taken off my nails were so damaged that I’ve decided to stop getting them and focus on nail health again! To fix my nails again I used all these products, I really went in depth on this blog post on how to get long strong and healthy nails so definitely check out that blog post for my reviews on the products!
- Staying hydrayted: It’s very important to stay hydrayted in general but being unhydrayted effects our nails! If you are unhydrayted your nails are more prone to becomeing brittle, breaking, and peeling easily.
